| - While more alcohol
and substances are often involved in suicide among males it is
often not the means males choose to commit suicide, females are more
likely to use a substance for the purpose of killing themselves |
| - Less than 1% of drug
related suicide attempts result in death if the person makes it to the
emergency room |
